AXIAL FAN Degrees of IP Protection
In Spal Axial Fan Modules the number which follows “IP” indicates the degree of protection against external agents: the first digit stands for protection against ingress of dust or other object (the maximum grade is 6) and the second one stands for protection against ingress of liquids (the max. grade is 8). Therefore IP68 protection offers the highest stability, durability and lifelong performance for motors used in extreme working conditions.
All IP68 certified SPAL motorsare WP (Water Proof) which means they are completely sealed and therefore protected against ingress of solid and liquid agents.
High Performance Axial Fans: The LL & VLL Motor
SPAL motors provide longer life, superior performance and lower cost over time when compared to standard versions.
The product life of our motors goes from 5.000 up to 20.000 or more hours according to the motor and fan configuration (*).
Most of the standard fan configurations shown in the catalogue are long life: from 5.000 to 10.000 hours
Dc Axial Fan Module Upgrades
LL = Longer Life motors
- Product life increased by approx. + 100% over standard version shown in the catalogue, usually 10.000 hours or more.

Spal – Brushed Centrifugal Blowers
Centrifugal blower moduleCentrifugal blowers are available with single and double impellers, 12V and 24V, with brush and brushless motors full speed control, high performance, extreme low noise and long life: those features and their wide range of different designs meet any requirement in developing a cooling and ventilation systems.
The VLL centrifugal blower module provides longer life, superior performance and lower cost over time when compared to standard versions.
Most of the centrifugal blowers shown in the catalogue are Long Life and have an indicative lifetime from 5.000 hours up to 12.000 hours (*). On selected models there are available the VLL versions (Very Long Life) which can reach lifetime up to 20.000 hours (*), three times higher than the previous standard blower series.

Spal Brushless Motor Fans and Centrifugal Blowers
Spal’s new range of brushless motor fans and brushless centrifugal blowers is designed for applications such as energy storage cooling, engine cooling, and HVAC – including the SBL300 sealed brushless motor that features a wide range of benefits. It is sustained by the use of dedicated high-performance fan designs that optimize fluid dynamic performance. The result is high airside performance at minimum electrical load. The SBL300 is IP68 and IP6K9K compliant, and that means that the motor is fully sealed and can operate in the presence of any aggressive or hazardous substance.
The integrated power and control electronics are separated within the motor to ensure the control electronics operate at lower surface temperature levels, this greatly increasing durability and overall product reliability. The SBL300 has a double-sealed ball bearing design, guaranteeing an impressive product life of more than 30,000 hours.
